Being entrepreneurial, is easier said than done. It has not been very long but seems like a very long ride. but, very enjoyable one. I have cherished every moment of it...
Entrepreneurship, in five words:
1. Uncertainty - Yes, it is not for weak-hearted people. It takes extreme courage to pursue this path. Let me give an example. Got to be ready to bet most or all of your savings into your venture. At the end of the day, if you are not ready to bet your money in your business, who else (VC or Angel) will? Lead from the front...
2. Planning & No-Planning - Sounds confusing. It is essential that entrepreneurs have to be extremely detail and result oriented. They should be able to clearly picture their end-game (vision). They should have an idea of what it takes to get there. However, entrepreneurs have to be prepared to face the turbulence on their way. Path from point A to B will never be easy and it will easily require plan A, B and C to get there... Visualize the big picture and steps to get there, but be prepared to work around the planned steps if things don't go as planned.
3. Persistence - Most important thing. Expect that few of your key team members will jump-ship, your biggest customer will give a hard time before paying you, takes forever to close the sale... but hang on during those tough moments, think that you are better than where you were at the day 1 of the business.
